Here is a little more information about the New Brunswick International Student Program (NBISP) and what New Brunswick Canada has to offer!
New Brunswick International
New Brunswick communities offer a safe, friendly and healthy learning environment. The cost of living is lower than most other areas of the country, and tuition fees are competitive without sacrificing quality of education. We also have the best high school graduation rate in Canada. As the country’s only officially bilingual province (English and French), we’ve built a dynamic world-class reputation for language learning.
Since 1998, over 2000 students have participated in Atlantic Education International’s study abroad programs in New Brunswick. Host schools, families and communities from every corner of the province look forward to sharing their warm hospitality with all future participants!
To get the most out of the program, students are encouraged to actively participate with their host family activities, as well as in classroom assignments, school and recreational activities. All this helps them improve their English language skills, while developing friendships and connections at home, at school, and in the community.
Our coordinators work closely with our partner agents and host schools to organize all aspects of the program, and to make sure each student and host family is well matched. From pre-arrival information, meeting students at the airport, and consistent follow-up throughout the program, our personalized approach ensures the safety and well being of each student.
International students from around the globe share about their experience of studying in a Canadian public high school while living with a local host family. They also share insights about benefits they have realized as a result of studying in Canada as well as their plans for the future.
The medical coverage for students in included their program fees. They receive a card showing they are insured through Medavie Blue Cross Insurance.
If they have any procedure done at the hospital or in a doctor’s office, Blue Cross Insurance – in some cases – will be billed directly. However, sometimes a student will be required to pay for a service upfront, but will be reimbursed after Blue Cross receives the original receipt and claim form which must be submitted within 30 (thirty) days of initial treatment.
Blue Cross does not cover regular trips to the dentist. However, the insurance will cover the cost of the dentist if the visit is the result of an accident.
